Molly is the English name of Zhuangqi Xu, while Jade is the Chinese meaning of 'qi' in the artist's name.

Zhuangqi Xu's works focus on exploring the relationship between individuals and the world within the context of sociology and semiotics. The themes are expressed through multi-perspective narratives, starting from seemingly trivial matters to critique and reflect on philosophical issues.

Shattered Jade in the Drawer

This project utilises programming to narrate through sound, materials, and space. It describes the story between my mother and the jade bracelet she has worn for over twenty years.

The shattered jade in the drawer is a spatial interaction and material experiment device with strong narrative qualities. It explores the emotional value that humans assign to objects, attempting to establish a new temporal scale through abstract mat

Scar

The work utilises Touchdesigner and experimental imagery to create an immersive space, narrating the scars on my body and mind in this way.

Scar is an immersive interactive project. It creates a large immersive space by combining experimental video and documentary forms through Touchdesigner. It explores scars as a medium of human memory, subtly promoting personal growth.

Dive into Period

Seamlessly buoyant to inspire wonder and safeguard our ecosystem.

Dive into Period is a team project aimed at expressing the impact of invasive species on local environments. The audience plays the role of foreign microorganisms in the work, calling on the public through perspective shifts.
